New Zealand-All Blacks Has Requested an Explanation For The Decisions Made After Their World Cup Final Loss
Date : 2nd November, 2023
THE SOIL – As announced by its departing coach Ian Foster, New Zealand has requested an explanation from the international regulatory body World Rugby on some officiating decisions made after their World Cup final loss to South Africa.
Four yellow cards were given during the 12-11 victory by the Springboks, including one that was upgraded to red for All Blacks captain Sam Cane for a high tackle. This meant that Foster’s team had 14 men for more than half of the match.

Foster Remained Silent When Asked What Aspects of The Game All Blacks Were Most Focused On
Five minutes into the second half, South Africa’s captain Siya Kolisi received a yellow card for what looked to be a similar shoulder-to-head collision with Ardie Savea.
The Television Match Official’s decision to cancel an Aaron Smith try due to a knock-on on the opposing side of the ground further confused New Zealand.
Foster grinned sarcastically and told the New Zealand reporters, “We’ve sent a number of — we’ve already sent a file into World Rugby for them to make a few comments on.”
Foster remained silent when asked what aspects of the game the All Blacks were most focused on.

The Match was Foster's Final Game as All Blacks coach
With Scott Robertson slated to take over, the match was Foster’s final game as All Blacks coach.
One of Foster’s final tasks after arriving in New Zealand from France will be a performance review of the All Blacks with his coaching staff; players will probably be excused from this.
