Saudi Arabia Announced to Hold an Annual Esports World Cup

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said in a statement that the yearly competition will begin in Riyadh in the summer of 2024.
According to the statement, teams will compete in a wide range of gaming categories in an effort to win the coveted title of Esports World Cup champion.

Savvy Games Group of Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, stated last year that it will invest 142 billion riyals, or $37.8 billion, in a number of projects aimed at making Saudi Arabia a major hub for the gaming industry worldwide.

He further underlined that taking part in the event will help achieve the Vision 2030 goals by boosting the tourism industry, creating job opportunities, and providing leisure activities for both residents and visitors.
