THE SOIL – In retaliation for a recent rocket attack by the potent Hezbollah militant group, villages in southern Lebanon were targeted by Israeli artillery shelling on Wednesday. It is now the fourth day in a row that there has been hostilities across the border.
Hezbollah has declared that it had launched precise missiles at an Israeli target in retribution for the Israeli attack that killed some of its fighters earlier this week. The group has promised to respond resolutely to any violations on Lebanese territory, especially those that cause fatalities.
The first report did not include information on how many individuals were injured right away.
Hezbollah Fired 2 Missiles
An insider in Lebanese security claims that Hezbollah fired two highly sophisticated missiles precisely at Israel, a country they strongly despise.
Residents in the southern Lebanon town of Rmeish reported Israeli artillery strikes affecting the area. According to a secret source, Israeli artillery shells targeted the position from which rockets were being launched, which was near Dhayra and directly across from Arab al-Aramshe.
Residents in those areas allege that the new commencement of hostilities has evoked memories of events during the summer of 2006, when Hezbollah, with Iranian help, and Israel fought for a month.
Hamas had Launched a Rocket Attack on Israel
Al-Jadeed, a local Lebanese TV station, aired footage depicting thick columns of white smoke rising from a wooded area close to residential homes and agricultural land in Dhayra.
Both Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Palestinian militant Hamas claimed responsibility for separate strikes on Tuesday. Hezbollah in Lebanon launched a precision-guided missile at an Israeli tank, recording the incident on video and destroying the vehicle. Meanwhile, Hamas reported that it had launched a rocket attack on Israel.
