Israel Deploying Armoured Tanks Ahead of a Planned Ground Invasion
Date: October 13, 2023
THE SOIL – On Friday, the Israeli military issued an order to all one million or more civilian residents of Gaza City to relocate southward in the next twenty-four hours. This call was made while they were deploying armoured tanks ahead of a planned ground invasion, which followed a brutal attack by the terrorist group Hamas.
Defence Minister Yoav Gallant declared on Thursday that “a call for conflict is necessary at this moment,” as Israeli military aircraft continued to bombard Gaza in response to recent attacks by Hamas insurgents that claimed over 1,300 Israeli lives, the majority of them civilian.
The Israeli military has declared that it will be carrying out significant operations inside Gaza City in the next days and has asked residents to think about going back only if they are given instructions. Unfortunately, more than 1,500 Palestinian lives have already been lost as a result of retaliatory actions.
Hamas Militants have Taken Up Residence in Gaza City
Hamas militants have taken up residence in Gaza City, where they have dug down covert tunnels beneath houses and sheltered inside of commandeered buildings, living side by side with Gaza’s defenceless civilian population.
A Hamas spokesman has advised the public not to be duped by what they refer to as “misinformation.” Afterwards, the extremist branch of the group said that of a group of people abducted from Israel, thirteen had died in the most recent Israeli airstrikes.
The Palestinian envoy to Japan has said that Israel is actively seeking the complete destruction of Gaza, and the UN has stated that it believes that any effort to uproot the population on such magnitude will unavoidably have disastrous humanitarian consequences.
Israel Makes A Promise to Destroy Violent Hamas Group
Israel’s UN representative, Gilad Erdan, called the U.N.’s response to Israel’s advance warning to the people of Gaza “utterly disgraceful.”
On Saturday, Israel made a promise to destroy the violent Hamas group that was behind the most recent attacks. They have revealed that during the course of their military operations, they have targeted around 750 military objectives, including military installations, top operators’ homes, weapons storage, and Hamas tunnels.
There is great risk from a land-based offensive into the 2.3 million-person densely populated and restricted Gaza Strip. Hamas has threatened to harm its hostages in threatening ways.
Crow of People Gathered at Al-Shifa Hospital Declaring their intention to Stay Put
There was no discernible departure from Gaza City even several hours after the Israeli authorities issued an evacuation notice. Rather, a large number of people gathered at al-Shifa Hospital, declaring their intention to stay put.
Anti-Israel protests were expected all across the world, and leaders from the US and the neighbouring countries scheduled talks because they were worried that the dispute might get worse.
Over 400,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in Gaza, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and 23 humanitarian workers have sadly died in the conflict.
IRCC Concerned About Approaching Exhaustion of Fuel Reserves
With only a few hours’ supply remaining, the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC) is concerned about the approaching exhaustion of fuel reserves for hospital generators in the Gaza region. Simultaneously, the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) has cautioned about the rapidly depleting food and drinkable water supplies in the region.
UNRWA, the UN agency in charge of Palestinian refugees, has declared that its primary operational hub and worldwide staff will be moving to the southern part of Gaza. In addition, the group has beseeched the Israeli government to safeguard its designated safe havens.
