THE SOIL – A horrible incident occurred on Thursday when a judge in Maryland was shot in his own driveway and died. Right now, police are looking for a person whose divorce case was still pending and was handled by the judge who passed away.
According to a statement released by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residence at 8 p.m. on the 19100 block of Olde Waterford Road in Hagerstown. There, they found 52-year-old Washington County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson outside the property after there had reportedly been a shooting.

Government Representatives have not Released Details Further
“The patient showed evidence of gunshot wounds, and Meritus Medical Centre received him right away. Regretfully, the extent of his injuries prevented him from recovering and he ultimately died, according to the sheriff’s office.
Government representatives have not released any more details about what led up to the shooting event, and the investigation is still ongoing.
The police department revealed in a Friday morning update that they are still looking for Pedro Argote, 49, as part of their investigation into a homicide case.
Case Involved Preliminary ruling in the case of complete marital dissolution
Judge Wilkinson oversaw Mr. Argote’s divorce procedures, which commenced in June 2022, according to official court records.
“Wilkinson presided over a divorce case in a court session on Thursday morning, as indicated in the court’s schedule.”
According to the court’s records, the case involved a “preliminary ruling in the case of complete marital dissolution.”
Argote is 130 pounds in weight and measures 5 feet 7 inches tall. His eyes are a warm brown colour, and his hair is a rich shade of black. The county sheriff’s department has reported that he could be driving a silver 2009 Mercedes GL450 with certain modifications.
Maryland State Police Troopers were sent out Thursday Night
“If you possess any details regarding Argote’s whereabouts, we urge you not to approach him, but rather promptly contact the authorities,” said the sheriff’s office.
On Friday at 11 a.m., the county law enforcement department has stated that it would hold a press briefing.
A state police official told NBC News that Maryland State Police troopers were sent out Thursday night “out of precautionary reasons” to “protect” judges living in Washington County.

Wilkinson Completed his Legal Studies at Emory University in 1997
Born in 1971 on Guam, Wilkinson completed his legal studies at Emory University in 1997 and held the position of assistant county attorney before. According to an internet profile, he was appointed associate judge of the Washington County Circuit Court in January 2020.
Former Maryland state delegate Neil C. Parrott expressed his sorrow about Wilkinson’s passing on X, saying, “Horrible news in Washington County tonight.” Judge Andrew Wilkinson appears to have died after being shot several times.
