THE SOIL – The persistent rumours about President Vladimir Putin’s employment of stand-ins to impersonate him during public appearances were mocked by the Kremlin on Tuesday as it denied a suggestion that his health was in doubt.
“He’s in perfect health; this is completely baseless,” the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in response to an unsupported assertion made on a Russian Telegram channel. Some Western media sites have emphasised this unconfirmed allegation, claiming that the president suffered a serious health event on Sunday night.

The Kremlin Chuckled and Dismissed that Putin Used Any Such Strategies
When another question about the use of stand-ins was posed, the spokesperson laughed and denied that Putin was using such strategies.
“This belongs to the category of absurd information hoaxes that a whole series of media discuss with enviable tenacity. This evokes nothing but a smile,” Peskov said.
