7 Lives Tragically Lost in Devastating Crash in New Orleans
Date : 24th October, 2023
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
THE SOIL – At least seven lives were tragically lost in a catastrophic collision involving 158 automobiles near New Orleans due to a large “super fog” of extreme density.
There was a lot of mist and haze from many marsh fires on Monday, which made it difficult for drivers to see throughout the commute.
25 People Injured, Death Toll Would Rise
Twenty-five people were injured in an accident on Interstate 55, according to St. John the Baptist Parish police. In a warning statement, the authorities expressed fear that the death toll would still rise.
A trail of twisted metal and blackened debris was left in the wake of several cars that burst into flames and were abandoned.
The Car Driver was Successfully Saved, Says the Authorities
“A section of the accident site caught fire shortly after the first occurrence. A compromised tank and trailer are the reason for the current dumping of a tanker truck carrying hazardous materials,” according to a statement from Lt Melissa Matey.
The driver of the car was successfully saved, according to police authorities, but the vehicle swerved off the road and into the sea.
46-year-old Clarencia Patterson Reed told the local press that she was travelling to Hammond when she deftly avoided hitting the car in front of her. But then some of the cars that were behind her started crashing into her automobile.
