United States Launched 2 Airstrikes Against Areas in Eastern Syria
Date : 27th October, 2023
THE SOIL – Early on Friday morning, the United States launched two airstrikes against areas in eastern Syria that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran and its allied groups were using. The reason for this action was a slew of recent events involving drone and rocket assaults against American service members in Syria and Iraq.
The Air Force’s F-16 fighter jets recently conducted attacks with the specific intention of sending a strong message to Iran. The Biden administration has blamed Tehran’s agents for a string of attacks that occurred in both Syria and Iraq. In order to prevent the crisis from getting worse, it was intended to put pressure on Iran to stop these actions in the Middle East. Although the facilities are few in number, U.S. officials have noted that they represent a shift in focus away from only the militias in Syria and Iraq that receive help from and are supported by Tehran and towards Iran’s own military assets in the region.
USA Sent 2 Aircraft to Eastern Mediterranean Near Israel
President Biden and his administration have been trying to limit the conflict between Israel and Hamas since the latter’s surprise strike on October 7. The goal is to keep it from getting out of control and turning into a bigger regional battle that would involve Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.
The United States has sent two aircraft carriers to the eastern Mediterranean, near Israel, in an attempt to accomplish this objective. Furthermore, a sizable contingent of additional combat aircraft have been stationed in the Persian Gulf region in an effort to deter Iran and its allied forces in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq from engaging in a wider regional confrontation. To protect US military personnel and assets in the Gulf, the Pentagon has also moved quickly to provide more Patriot missile defence systems and other anti-aircraft defences to several Gulf states.
Given the ongoing assaults on U.S. military personnel over the course of the previous week and a half, the number released by the Pentagon by the end of Thursday had increased to at least 19. The calls for the United States to respond militarily have grown as a result of this.
No Prior Cotact With Israeli Military Concerning Airstrikes
During a Thursday night news briefing, a senior Department of Defence official stated that there had been no prior contact with the Israeli military concerning the airstrikes.
